What confuses me the most is how does college decide what applicants they actually want ? What is the admission office like ? How does the admissions process work and is it just based on grades? I always wanted to know what can I do to improve my chances of getting in.
I know I will be going against many applicants and it will be tuff because their is always someone who has a higher GPA than me and SAT score , so what will I have to do to stand out and show the college that I am the applicant they need to give their school a better name. I always wonder would I even get into the colleges of my choice because their are many applicants running up against me. I just don't know what to do at this point because it kind of too late to get my act together and get a very high GPA.
The one thing that will save me in college is my letters of recommendations because I have developed very close relationships with some of my teachers and I can depend on them to write strong letters for me since I go to a small school we have developed some very close relationships with on another

What are you thirsting to learn and why?
I am thirsting to learn what my life would actually be like after high school. I wonder if I will still keep in touch with my old friends that I knew throughout my high school career. The number one thing is that I am very worried if I'm going away to college or staying on the island.
Another thing I am eager to learn are the things that I always worry about and if they are still going to hunt me. I wish I was able to look into a crystal ball and be able to see my future. I hope I will become a physical therapist even though its a lot of work I really hope I can pursue my dreams.
I very thrilled with wanting to learn these things because, I hope my future is bright for me and I will be able to obtain my goals. Another thing I hope is that I will be able to get into a good PT program. I know I have to work hard and that's what I will do

Musical - music smart - use of rhythm and other musical elements to learn
I am a music smart learning because I learn best by listening to music to help me stay on task. The type of music I like to listen to while studying for test or doing homework would be classical Jazz music. I love this type of music because it helps me stay on task.
Whenever I have a big test to study for I make a song out of the material I will be having to know when its time to take a test, I study by find a pop beat song and turning it into a informational song so when it's time to take the test I can just sing the song in my head.
In conclusion I will continue to use this study method when I am in college. This will be helpful in college because, Work would be a lot harder and when I have to sit down for a midterm or final. I will memorize the song and hopefully I will pass

What was the first research assignment you remember ever having? Were you in elementary school, middle school, or high school? Exactly what grade were you in? What do you remember learning about the research process? What did you choose to write about or was a topic assigned to you?
The first research I was given was when I was in the 8th grade , I had to research a topic about uniforms in public schools and should they come to an end or continue to have them. I disagreed that uniforms in public schools should not exist because public schools should be about freedom of expression.
The one thing that I remember the most about the project was that more public schools are making their children wear uniform. I was shocked by that piece of information because many of the students that choose to go to public school is because, they don't want to wear uniforms. I was very shocked that the board of ed was considering this dress code.
Being that the topic was picked for me to write about I was sill able to voice my thoughts about how I feel about the issue. I wasn't too fond with the idea when I was in 8th grade but now that I am a senior in high school I would consider uniforms because, it's less stressful for the students. Also less students wouldn't be bullied because everyone is wearing the same clothing.

When was the last time you were assigned a research project? In what subject was it? What did you do?
The last time I was assigned a research project was at the ending of my junior year. I wasn't too sure about it because I was nervous about how I would do on it . My teacher walked me through how to cite MLA and what was required to get a high score.
The Subject that I wrote my research paper for was in English. Mrs. Prevosti was a helpful source when writing the paper. I wrote my paper on gender studies and how Men always over power the women and how women never have a say so in politics or weather they can make choices in their own daily lives in different parts of the world. I used easy bib.com to complete my MLA citations.
On the project I scored an 85 which I was actually shocked about because, it was my first time writing a research paper and I didn't do that bad. I was pleased with my grade and also I learned new ways I could of scored higher to better my paper.
